Sunday, June 7 - After breakfast we set out for our desert excursion.  Our first stop was the baptismal site that is closer to the are where John the Baptist had his ministry.  Some of us had a renewal of our baptismal vows

Next we drove into Jericho where we saw the Mount of Temptation

 

We then visited Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered

After lunch we proceeded to Masada

 

where we came across a very domesticated Ibex

 

 

Our last stop for the day was the Dead Sea
