Tuesday, June 2 - The morning we were up at 4:00 AM and after fiddling around in our room Phyllis, Patty & I decided to go walk around outside.

We found the Bedouin Tent that we had visited the last time we were here, but it was empty except for the cat.  They must not get up this early

After a big Jordanian breakfast we left to visit the famous necropolis of Petra .

Petra is a historical and archeological city in the southern Jordan that is famous for it's rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.  Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved.  Established possibly as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans, it is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most visited tourist attraction.

We spent about 4 hours there and then headed back to the bus & lunch. Since we had the time we did an added attraction of a tour of Wadi Rum.

All we needed was a machine gun mounted on the truck and the scarves around our heads and we could have been mistaken as a bunch of over the hill terrorists,  I wish I had my camera out when we were trying to get up and down off the back of those pick ups.  A couple of cranes would have helped.

We had tea in the desert

and then stopped at a Bedouin tent for a lesson in the "language" of Bedouin  coffee by our guide Ms Salam

We drove to the border and crossed over into Eilat.  We caughta van waiting for us  that took us to the Magic Palace where we had some leisure time, dinner and overnight.
